Bretylium (also bretylium tosylate ) is an antiarrhythmic agent. [ 1 ] It blocks the release of noradrenaline from the peripheral sympathetic nervous system .
It was patented in 1978. [ 2 ]
It is used in emergency medicine , cardiology , & other specialties for the acute management of ventricular tachycardia & ventricular fibrillation . [ 3 ]
